Regina Viqueira is drawn to the little things, hidden corners, and beings that are often overlooked, rarely even given belief. In her art and social practice, she aims to elevate the ordinary and the unusual through play and ritual, transforming what was once considered mundane or nonsense into something sacred and meaningful.
Through her work, Regina intends to encourage the world to reconsider its perceptions of the ordinary and to find significance in the neglected. Ultimately, she aspires to create a dialogue that bridges cultures and invites reflection on our shared experiences.
Regina Viqueira holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York, NY and a BA in Studio Art and Peace and Conflict Studies from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. She has exhibited work at the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC, El Museo del Barrio in New York City, and PULSE Art Fair in Miami, among other spaces.
